Tagged

So, it seems that my blog has been tagged by my best-and-longest-friend, Caroline. I don't always oblige to such things, but I enjoyed reading her entry, so I decided to go for it. I even learned new things about her, even though we have been friends since 8th grade! (Care - who knew we non-dancers shared a secret desire to be a ballerina or that you are not good at matching clothes?!?) So, here are the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

And here goes:

1. I, like Caroline, harbor regrets that I was never a ballerina. Even though I do not dance in public, I often spin and leap around my house when no one else is around. People often point out that I have a tendency to stand on my toes, which I don't even notice. I do know that I tend to stand in 3rd position when I am just standing still, though I am pretty sure that comes from 3 years of colorguard in high school...

2. I have a very strong gag reflex. Though I don't often throw up (only Peru seems to have that effect on me), I gag every time I brush my teeth. It is also sometimes quite a challenge not to gag in front of my patients and families at work, but somehow I manage to do a good job of saving that for when I am out of sight.

3. My favorite season is fall. I am loving it right now! I love the blue skies, the crisp cool air after the stifling heat of summer, and the vibrant colors of the leaves changing. I am thankful that God is so creative in giving us so many different aspects of nature to enjoy!

4. I love all things mint. York peppermint patties are my favorite candy for about 10 months of the year - that is until the mint M&M's come out in November. (I haven't seen any yet, but I am looking!) I love peppermint mocha frappuccinos, peppermint mocha coffee creamer (also only exists at Christmas) and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Peppermint ice cream from Jake's in Decatur is even better!

5. I hate shaving my legs. I think that is one of the reasons that I hate wearing shorts. I tend to only shave when it is absolutely necessary, which means hardly ever during the winter...

6. The only car accident I have ever been in involved my car and a wild turkey. The details include a stretch of interstate in middle-of-nowhere, West Virginia, me driving alone from Pittsburgh to Florida, a shattered windshield, random sketchy men stopping to try to help, a seemingly endless (probably around 30 minute) ride with a tow truck man to a slightly less middle-of-nowhere town to get my windshield fixed, and me being very insistent that they would fix it that day, because I definitely was NOT going to stay in a hotel in backwoods, West Virginia by myself. At least that's how I remember it. I am sure that West Virginia is a lovely state with lots of non-sketchy men, but my memories tend to leave those people out. And, who knew that turkeys flew anyways?? Apparently they often fly across interstates in West Virginia, because no one there but me seemed to be surprised that one flew into my windshield...

7. I consider myself a very low maintenance girl, with a couple of exceptions. I do insist on straightening my hair every day, and I love to indulge in a pedicure every now and then. Other than that, I don't wear make-up (I don't really own any, mostly because I don't know what to do with it) and I am most comfortable wearing jeans and flip flops, though I think skirts are fun every now and then. I hate high heels. I also don't like coats. (Random, I know.)

Yay! I finished! That probably took way too long, but it is my day off and I am procrastinating my To Do list. (Two more things about me - I am definitely a procrastinator, and I am not good at lists...) I am going to break the rules because I am not sure that I have 7 blogging friends to tag that have not already done this. But, I will tag Melissa (my peppermint loving friend), Sarah (in an effort to get you blogging again, though I have no room to talk...), and Erin (my once-upon-a-time-in-a-land-far-away-we-used-to-be-friends friend. I miss you)
