Before and After

After much anticipation (pretty much just from my mom and sister), here are a few before and after shots of my kitchen:

Before:

(These were actually taken a long time ago and I apparently didn't care about the stuff laying everywhere...)

After:

Thanks goes to my college roommate Emily for letting me steal her paint color (again) and my mom for helping me tile! And apologies that the lighting in my house is terrible...

And just for fun, here's the before and after of my bed today:

Before:

(It would seem as though my dryer shot the clothes out like a cannon and this is where they landed. Sadly, I am the responsible one. I actually slept on the left side of the bed last night with the laundry on the right...)

After:

Much better

And with that, I am off to bed...

I may be biased, but I really do LOVE that color! (Glad you do too).

I think it is hilarious that you slept in that pile of clothes...it is quite (quite, not in a British accent) a remarkable transformation and from the time of your post you are only about 3 hours after your desired bedtime....not bad....not bad at all!

Awesome! I am so stinking impressed with the tiling. Was that hard? How did you know what to do? I'm feeling very inspired...

I think you did a lovely (that's with the British accent)job on the grouting. I am loving it! I am also liking the much improved version of your bed.

Julie - not that hard. Of course, my handy mom was around to help. As it turned out, though, she left me with the hardest part to do on my own (the grouting). We used the kind of tile that come on like a 12x12 sheet, which definitely makes it easier than trying to space individual tiles. And YouTube was a nice help, too. You can find videos about how to do just about anything!
